Brief Biography

I’m a graduate student at OCAD University studying Strategic Foresight and Innovation (SFI). At SFI we apply a combination of systems thinking, design thinking, business thinking, and foresight methods to solve complex issues requiring systemic interventions. We solve business problems and drive solutions through thoughtful design that incorporates a human element.

Why interested in archives:

What fascinates me about working with archives (preserved texts, documents, or books) is the opportunity to better interpret and understand are essential records of a moment in time. Historical records give insight and context into rights and privileges of people in our society. They empower us in the ongoing work of holding government accountable and ensuring transparency.

Info and Tech Access & Experience

My personal computer system is a MacBook Air. My home office contains a 27” curved monitor, apple magic keyboard and wireless ergonomic mouse and wrist rest. I have many years of experience working with archival repositories and have used traditional programs and software when working with archival repositories. I am fluent and have intermediate experience with numerous technologies systems.

Goals

I am a design researcher and within this my project my research is supporting the development of user experiences for a variety of database. This also includes but isn’t limited to researching and designing strategies to support the development of the user journey map, service design blueprint, wireframes, and prototypes. My aim on as a researcher on the project is to collect the archival data through one of our key partners, analyze and synthesize the data to support the creation of a robust database.
